Now Open: 2026 WAVE Grant for Emerging Women Filmmakers
We’re excited to share that applications are now open for the 2026 WAVE (Women At the Very Edge) Grant, an incredible opportunity from Wavelength Productions designed to support emerging women and non-binary filmmakers in bringing their first professional narrative short to life.
This annual grant offers a powerful blend of funding, mentorship, and production support — helping underrepresented voices break into the industry and tell bold, original stories from their unique perspectives.
What the WAVE Grant Offers:
- $5,000 seed grant to help fund your short film 
- Year-long mentorship program with guidance from industry professionals 
- In-kind partner services, including: - Crowdfunding mentorship from Seed&Spark 
- Professional coloring services from Nice Shoes 
 
Who’s Eligible:
- Applicants must have a narrative short script (approx. 10 minutes) slated for production between April–December 2026 
- This must be the director’s first professional film (student films do not count toward eligibility) 
Whether you're just starting your filmmaking journey or you’re ready to bring your voice to the screen in a meaningful way, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain both financial and creative support.
